Ashka Naik is a public policy expert and a social scientist with more than two decades of international experience in food and climate justice movements, corporate accountability policies, politics of global health, multilateral negotiations, and women’s rights. She has served in leadership roles at several civil society organizations, and has been deeply engaged with social movements on food, women, peace, and democracy. Naik contributes as an advisor, expert, and invited faculty to a multitude of policy discourses on food systems, power, public health, and political accountability. She has worked closely with the WHO and the UN system on the issues of food justice, gender, governance, and accountability. Naik’s doctoral work has focused on the intersection of food security, power, and women’s rights in South Asia. Her work has been covered by media outlets such as the New York Times, Washington Post, and Al Jazeera, and academic platforms such as Stanford Social Innovation Review, World Nutrition, and Development.
